The Department of English at the University of Lincoln has a strong research focus on 21st century literature, launching a dedicated MA programme in 21st Century Literautre in 2011, running annual contemporary drama sympoisums, and supporting Gylphi's new scholarly journal C21. The department is also running biennial "What Happens Now: 21st Century Writing in English" conferences and co-organising 2 conferences as part of Gylphi's Contemporary Writers: Critical Essays series in collaboration with the University of St Andrews and Birkbeck, University of London:
